Climate action

Velliv believes climate change initiatives are essential to create long-term value for customers, society, and the planet. We are committed to working ambitiously on climate initiatives, and our climate targets have been approved by Science Based Targets initiative to ensure our targets are in line with the Paris Agreement.

Velliv’s climate efforts are based on a foundation of recognised standards and valid research. The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) helps create credibility and transparency about companies’ targets and the efforts required to achieve the targets.

What is SBTi?
SBTi is a globally recognised standard that ensures the scientific validation of the affiliated companies’ CO2e emissions reduction targets against the targets of the Paris Agreement.

Velliv and customers pursuing a common goal

SBTi approval can be considered a quality assurance of our climate targets. Velliv supports our clients in reaching their climate targets, and we actively collaborate in the value chain. This includes engaging with business partners for them to commit to the Science Based Targets initiative and working in the same direction,” Søren Husted, Senior Vice President of Velliv, says.

Velliv’s climate targets are operationalised in a transition plan for mitigating CO2e emissions through for instance active ownership of portfolio companies, in collaboration with suppliers, and mitigating energy consumption from own operation.

As part of Velliv’s climate commitment, Velliv participated at the UN Climate Summit, COP28, where Chief Investment Officer Anders Stensbøl discussed Velliv’s approach to fossil fuel companies’ transition plans and the need for more public-private investments to accelerate the sustainable transformation.
