Velliv’s Active ownership report 2025
Velliv’s new Active ownership report for 2025 has been published.
Active ownership at Velliv is structured to support our overall responsible investment objectives: ensuring that our investments reflect responsible corporate practices, and that we achieve our targets in line with the Paris Agreement and the protection of biodiversity.
2,900 engagements
Our active ownership efforts in 2025 resulted in engagement with approximately 2,900 companies. This was achieved through a range of approaches, including direct dialogue, proxy voting and alignment with international standards and guidelines. Velliv voted at 1,871 general meetings across 1,559 companies, conducted direct dialogue with 82 companies, and engaged with around 2,900 companies through investor collaboration and external managers.
Climate targets aligned with the Paris Agreement
A key focus of our climate-related active ownership is encouraging companies in our portfolio to commit to validated, science-based climate targets in line with the Paris Agreement. Companies such as Nvidia and LS Electric, for example, have committed to validated CO₂ reduction targets following our engagement. In 2025, we engaged with 14 companies on joining the Science Based Targets initiative and having their emissions reduction targets validated.
In 2025, we also continued to strengthen our efforts in biodiversity. Through Velliv’s commitment to the Finance for Biodiversity Pledge in 2022, we collaborate, share knowledge, and engage with portfolio companies to reduce negative impacts and promote positive outcomes for biodiversity. In 2025, we published an analysis of how our investments in listed equities and corporate bonds may depend on and impact biodiversity.
Good corporate covernance
To ensure strong corporate governance, Velliv bases its approach on internationally recognised standards for responsibility and sustainability, including the UN Global Compact (UNGC), the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, and the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises.
Through active ownership, we work continuously to drive positive change and improve the management of risks related to issues such as employee and product safety, as well as biodiversity protection. Velliv invests with a long-term perspective, aiming to create financial security over a lifetime. It is therefore natural to integrate sustainability and associated risks into both our investment processes and our active ownership approach.
