Velliv Foreningen

As a Velliv customer, you are automatically member of Velliv Foreningen – free of charge.

In November 2016, the association Norliv acquired 25 per cent of the shares in Nordea Liv & Pension – thus automatically making all of Nordea Liv & Pension's 300,000 customers co-owners of their pension company.  In April 2018, Velliv Foreningen acquired another 45 per cent of the shares in Velliv, meaning that Velliv Foreningen now owns 81 per cent. In December 2019, Velliv Foreningen acquired 100 pct. full ownership of Velliv.

All Velliv’s customers are members of Velliv Foreningen, who has DKK 8 billion worth of funds. Moreover, Velliv Foreningen will get a share of Velliv’s future profit. Through membership of Velliv Foreningen, Velliv’s customers can influence how the return is used.

As a member you can:

  • Stand for and vote in elections for the Board of Representatives - this is your opportunity to have direcet influence on the activities of the association.
  • Become elected for the Board of Directors of the association

  • Get specific members' benefits in the form of bonus payment.

Velliv Foreningen

Background

Velliv is the result of a historical affiliation with TryghedsGruppen. Until 6 August 2015, customers of Nordea Liv & Pension and Tryg were automatically members of TryghedsGruppen. With the foundation of the new association on 6 August 2015, customers of Nordea Liv & Pension had their own, independent association.

Management of Velliv

The supreme authority is the Board of Representatives. It has 50 members all of which are democratically elected by and among the members. Seven members from the Board of Representatives are elected for the Board of Directors. Velliv appoints six members for Velliv's Board of Directors. Elections for the Board of Representatives are held every two years – alternately in East and West Denmark. The Board of Directors comprises: Peter Gæmelke (Chairman), Kent Petersen (Deputy Chairman), Finn Andersen, Viggo Nedergaard Jensen, Peter Lindholm Sørensen, Cathrine Riegels Gudbergsen and Ane Hendriksen.

Elections

Elections for the Board of Representatives are held every two years. The elections are held alternately in East Denmark and West Denmark. This means that candidates are generally elected for a 4-year period. Here you can see how many candidates are to be elected in the two electoral districts broken down by the different regions (50 in total): Electoral District East: Capital Region, Zealand Electoral District West: Southern Denmark, Central Jutland, Northern Jutland.
