Inheritance and Pension

Your pension is not included as part of your general estate. It is therefore important that you decide who your pension should be disbursed to when you die.

What if your pension scheme is not deductible?

What if your pension scheme is not deductible?

If your pension scheme is non-deductible (from your income), there are no restrictions on who you can nominate as beneficiary. Hence, you can nominate both persons who are next of kin and persons who are not, as well as foundations or charitable organisations, for example.
You do so by completing and submitting a nomination of beneficiary form. If you plan to nominate a foundation or charitable organisation as beneficiary, you must first call us on +45 70 33 99 99 for further information.

If your pension scheme is deductible, you may only nominate:

  • your spouse/registered partner
  • separated or divorced spouse/registered partner
  • a cohabiting partner with whom you share a joint household at the time of nomination
  • your issue (i.e. your children, grandchildren and great grandchildren)
  • stepchildren and their issue
  • children of your cohabiting partner – their issue ‘next of kin’
  • no beneficiary – i.e. disbursement is made to your estate.
