Investments that make a difference

Velliv has invested in 'Emission Reduction' bonds issued by the World Bank, where Velliv was a key investor with an investment of DKK 162 million.

300,000 free water purifiers

The investment will go towards providing 300,000 free water purifiers to 8,000 schools and institutions. This includes kindergartens, nurseries, primary and secondary schools, as well as care homes, orphanages, psychiatric institutions and facilities for people with disabilities in Vietnam, who currently do not have access to clean drinking water.

The water purifiers remove 99.999% of bacteria, ensuring clean drinking water.

By replacing the need to boil water over open fires, the purifiers will significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions, improve public health (also due to reduced particulate emissions), and CO2 emissions.

In fact, a total reduction of 5,828,996 tons of CO2 is expected over a period of 10 years. Additionally, the water purifiers will prevent deforestation equivalent to 3,000 hectares/30km2 per year, improving biodiversity.

This also means that children and women will save time previously spent collecting firewood for boiling water, which can instead be used for education and other activities.
